Worried if I’m protected: It’s my first day of active pills after my 7 days of placebo. I took my pill at 7:30 in the morning on an empty stomach, then had a bowel movement less than an hour later (I ate something spicy right before bed which is the root of the issue) which was mostly solid but partially liquid. Then at 2 pm I had a small amount of stool which was pretty liquidy, but still had a little form so I’m not sure it counts as watery. I did not see a pill in it. The rule of thumb I’ve seen people say here is that diarrhea should be okay as long as it’s not 6 cups (watery) in a day or lasting longer than 24 hours. But I’m not sure what the source is for that guideline or if that’s from a proper study. I looked over my pamphlet and didn’t see anything relating to diarrhea. I’m a bit scared because I know the first week back on active pills is the most risky to mess up. I was planning on having sex without a condom in two days (we’ve always used condoms up until this point, so im also more nervous since it would be my first time without condoms). Would it be a bad idea/unsafe? Should I take another pill today? I’m on a combined contraceptive pill, Mirvala 28. Thank you in advance to anyone with advice.

What you were told about diarrhea affecting the pill is true, unless it’s severe and fully liquid you are fine

the 5/6+ cups/trips of fully liquid diarrhoea is correct, i’ve had sex after 3 and 4 trips before (after it has stopped) and i’m not pregnant. you wouldn’t see a pill in your diarrhoea, that’s not how it works.
