Hiii! I have been in the combi pill for around 11 years and have just had a surgery that has left me immobile for a prolonged period. The doctors have told me I have to move into the mini pill because of risk of blood clots. I don’t have a choice if I want to stay on the pill, but wondered if anyone has any experience swapping pill types and what it’s been like? I’ve had the same pill for so long I really don’t want anything to change and I’m nervous about how it will affect me!

i swapped from a combo pill to mini pill 2 and a half months ago because of my migraines, but i was on the combo pill less than a year as well. the one i swapped to is called Slynd. it’s progesterone only, but a newer brand that has a 24 hour window and a 4 day placebo week. i like it because the experience didn’t change much when switching. i was nervous about swapping too but my experience has been very positive. though i’m not sure how Slynd differs from other mini pills in terms of side effects. do you know what brand you’d go on? the only noticeable difference i’ve has is that my periods don’t happen during the placebo week, they’ve been going on their own schedule. but again, i haven’t been on this pill very long so that might change.
