Hi “am I protected?/how likely am I to get pregnant” This week is my first time on birth control (currently on pill 3). And my boyfriend really wanted to have sex even if I wasn’t protected yet. I had a pack of emergency contraception on me at the time so I took that after we did it, he came inside me. I took the emergency contraception and an extra regular birth control pill… I’m just really worried I’m only 18 haha not ready for a child yet. I hope some people respond to this… Brand: Levlen ED Brand: Levlen ED

Emergency contraception is not a form of birth control, and it's significantly less effective than birth control. You will need to take a pregnancy test in 2 weeks to make sure it worked. Also taking an extra BC pill did nothing except increase your possible side effects. It's extremely selfish and irresponsible of your boyfriend to insist on having unprotected sex when you're not protected yet. He could just wait a couple days or use a condom.

If you used emergency contraception "ellaOne" keep in mind that it renders the birth control pill ineffective for 5 days.

I would like to point out how much of a red flag it is that your boyfriend still decides to have unprotected sex with you when you aren’t sure if you’re even protected. Sex isn’t just about him. I hope you stand up for yourself next time and he gains some respect and responsibility even it comes to sex. You need to take a pregnancy test 21 days regardless.

You should really read ur pill pamphlet or talk to ur doctor before have sex so that you know when you’re protected and learn more about ur pill. Plan B is useless especially since you most likely have already ovulated if you aren’t protected from the pill yet, even if you are protected the Plan B is still not guaranteed to work. If you didn’t want a child yet then why did you let your boyfriend finish inside you if you both aren’t sure if you are protected? If he wanted to have sex so bad he could have worn a condom or waited until you were protected. It’s both of ur responsibilities to make sure you are having safe sex if you don’t want to get pregnant. Your boyfriend sounds like a red flag.
