with my experience of being on the pill, whenever my and my bf have done it unprotected, i always shower after to scoop it out if he came inside (cuz sperm can live in you for 3-5 days) to try to prevent anything in case i miss a pill. we haven’t had any pregnancy scares yet, so as long as you’ve been taking the pill correctly you should be fine :)

@_ami thank you so much! I’ve taken another test today but I dropped it in the toilet so I can’t even rely on that but it said negative 😂xx

It’s great you are taking the pill so consistently—that drastically lowers chance of pregnancy. Taking a morning after pill could be considered over-kill/unnecessary but I know it can be stressful and hard to trust the pill. Pairing condoms AND pill, is extremely effective and might help manage anxiety for you? In any case, I’d say the best thing to try is to focus on the anxiety itself. What kinds of things distract you, make you feel better, soothe you? Would learning more about birth control pills help? This kind of thing is normal to stress about, but try and make it easier on yourself

More time on the pill, you may also build more trust if you’re new to the experience

@beesandhoney thank you!! Yeah I just wanted to be cautious as I normally always make him wear protection, I’m just very worried about this time that I could be pregnant , but this scare has definitely made me think about the pill and learn more about it I’ve been on it for 4 years and not really learned about it tbf! Xx

@_ami girl wdym you scoop it out haha. The moment he ejaculates inside you there’s MILLIONS of sperm setting up camp inside your uterus and your fallopian tubes but if you’re in the pill that’s literally partially prevented through thickened cervical mucus and thin endometrial lining. Scooping it out is super unnecessary, introducing shower water in there is honestly more dangerous than just letting the excess semen drain naturally

@_ami yeah I get that!! It’s kinda the opposite to how some women put their legs up above their pelvis when trying to conceive! It doesn’t actually help, what’s in there is already in there, those extra ones inside your vagina are dying or already dead since it’s a hostile environment!
