I’ve been on the pill for 4 years or more I never get a period but in the last few months I’ve started getting brown discharge, mixed with red blood down below basically spotting sometimes it’s heavy other times it’s not, sometimes I get cramps but this has been going on for a while and it happens then it goes away for a long time and then it comes back again it is so frustrating and confusing as I don’t know why it happens ? Has anyone ever experienced this on the mini pill, another thing my pill has desogestrel in it I don’t know if that could be a cause, I take my pill around the same time every single night not the exact same time but I asked my local nurse and she told me that you don’t have to take it at the exact same time …. I’m just so confused and frustrated and I wonder has anyone experienced this, it never happened me when I started the pill it’s only been in the last 5 months I’d say. Brand: Azalia

Irregular bleeding is unfortunately a very common side effect of the mini pill. As long as you take it within your time frame you’re good but taking it consistently may help reduce side effects. What you’re experiencing is normal on any kind of birth control.
