TW: dieting, weight gain, body image issues, eating disorders Yesterday my parents told me they wanted to put me on a diet. Ever since I got on my pills I’ve gained around 8 pounds. They have been saying something for a while, but they finally got to me. Ive asked them to stop mentioning it because it’s triggering, but they just won’t. I struggled with an eating disorder off and on for about 2 years and finally got over it after I got with my boyfriend. I have always been a little chunky because I’m 5’ and it’s hard to lose weight being so short. I’m just really upset and have been thinking about it and crying all day yesterday and today. Does anyone have any tips on how to feel better?

F them & ignore them. Their opinion doesn’t matter. Your body is yours they have no say

^thats terrible of them to comment on your weight. The only person who can tell you to change your body is yourself! I know it’s tough coming from parents but keep your chin up and remember you’re perfect how you are and worthy of your love! :) your opinion is the only important one when it comes to your body!

I totally understand how you are feeling. I’m not even 5’ and I gained 8 pounds too. I tried doing some work out and it’s difficult. But if ur happy with ur body and you feel happy you shouldn’t change and shouldn’t care what your parents says to you. There not you. You are your own body and your own self. My mom fat shame me whenever she see me eating and at this point I just don’t care and don’t listen to whatever she says, cause I’m happy with my own body and I’m happy how I look and my boyfriend helps me feel confident and beautiful. And I want to say that you are beautiful as well. And you shouldn’t change for them. And as the girl above wrote your opinion is the most important one :) So you better go to the mirror and tell yourself that you are beautiful❤️

I’m going to assume you still live at home. If this is the case I can understand how it would be hard to get away from their opinions. Just know that this won’t always be the case it will get better and ultimately it’s up to you whatever you put in your body... Maybe from their point of view they are just trying to make sure you are healthy. You know your body best and what feels good to you and ultimately your opinion of yourself is the most important. everyone goes through weight changes throughout their life and it is normal and natural especially when you’re on the pill or beginning the pill. Don’t worry you’re perfect the way you are!

@Uke8450 that’s what they say it’s about, but then they told me it’s effecting my mental health and they can tell I’m depressed which is not true lol
