Hi, does anyone who how long is recommended to stay on the same pill for? I’ve been on mine for over 3 years and I’ve been bleeding randomly a lot for a couple months. Does this mean I should be getting a stronger dose of the pill or something? Or come off completely? I am going to see my doctor soon but thought I’d ask !!! 💤💤💤❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌💤💤💤💤

Breakthrough bleeding is a normal side effect of birthcontrol and can happen at any time on any kind, there’s really not much you can do about it and switching won’t guarantee it won’t happen again, along with you’d go through another adjustment faze with another pill and you may experience different side effects

There is no recommended time. If you’re regularly experiencing this and it’s bothering you then it might be worth trying a new pill. However the risk of trying a new pill is that you may experience other unwanted side effects on the new pill. It’s a bit of trial and error, it’s up to you to decide if your irregular bleeding is annoying you enough to try something different.

Is it just occasional bleeding or is it a constant steady flow that’s gone on for months?
