Any suggestions on a cough suppressant. I cannot stop coughing

I recommend trying over-the-counter cough suppressants such as codeine. Additionally, staying hydrated, using a humidifier, and avoiding irritants like smoke can also help alleviate coughing. If your cough persists or worsens, please seek medical advice promptly.

Honestly one of the biggest things that helps me when I'm coughing is warm tea (or any warm drink)

I would be careful with dextromethorphan and SSRI. I took them together once and also drank alcohol (which probably made things worse) but anyway I was so drowsy I could not stay awake and ended up falling asleep at a house party. I’ve been drowsy and loopy from combining them without alcohol too, just not as bad. Best to avoid. If you really need medicine because supportive measures aren’t working you should go to urgent care or your PCP and ask for benzonatate, it’s non drowsy and works very well, doesn’t interact with SSRI.
