i just started on bcp - yasmin 21 days again. Is it normal to have dark spotting after my period? was told by my doctor to take my bcp on my first day of period – however when my period ended, there was heavy dark spotting until i was down to my last 4 pills of the pack. Is this normal? i have no time to head for a consultation and visit my doctor, my wedding is end of this month, hence i went back on BCP in order to avoid it clashing with my wedding.

Yes it's normal. Irregular bleeding can happen at any time but it's especially common when you first start birth control and are adjusting (first 3-6 months)

Yes that’s normal, birthcontrol works by thinning the lining of the uterus, so you’ll end up bleeding a bit more or have breakthrough bleeding while your body adjusts

Yes it is normal, just know being on birth control offers no guarantees on bleeding patterns, since irregular bleeding is especially common the first 3-6 months. So there are no guarantees for your wedding or honeymoon. I’d recommend staying on because coming off comes with withdrawal symptoms, which can also include irregular bleeding.
