i’m on antibiotics today for my UTI and i’m supposed to take it for 5 days. as of now, i am on my withdrawal week with 5 days left. once i finish my antibiotics, i’ll be roughly starting my pack at the same time, would it still be effective? 💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊🔶💊💤 Brand: Linessa

why would it not be effective? uti antibiotics don’t affect the pill.

doctors aren’t always up to date with the new information about birth control. here’s a link to everything that affects the pill, the information is from the nhs website. {KY-Wur5EP}

@mxflo hypothetically you don’t need to wait at all as there is no drug interaction.

@bluerose9 i’d rather be safe than sorry since there is still conflicting evidence :/

there is no conflicting evidence though. the link i provided you is a list of all things that interfere with birth control. that information is from the nhs website and it’s the most up to date, reliable source of information for birth control.

if uti antibiotics affected the pill a whole lot of users on her would be pregnant lol. plus you shouldn’t really be having sex when having a uti anyways to not irritate it further

@mxflo use condoms for peace of mind then until you’re comfortable going without. ^ obviously don’t have sex until you’re sure the infection is cleared up as you don’t want to make it worse.
