has anyone had a uti caused by enterococcus faecalis? i had to have a urine culture done and my uti came back as that being the bacteria causing it first was prescribed nitrofurantoin and it didn’t work then i was prescribed amoxicillin and it dtill hasn’t cleared. im booking an appointment with my actual gynecologist soon to see why its not clearing (i was just going to my normal women’s clinic) but i was wondering if anyone else has experienced a uti from this specific bacteria

I’ve not had that specific bacteria before but when I did encounter a UTI with bacteria my doctor adviced me to take those vitamin C tablets which you dissolve in water (1000mg) once a day (as well as a glass for the packet of treatment). I do have to say it significantly helped and I have been experiencing much less UTI’s since.

This type of bacteria comes from the GI tract, are you carefully wiping front to back? Using a bidet (water) might help after using the restroom, to clean more thoroughly and wash away any leftover bacteria’s that want to make a home in your urinary tract.
