does this sound like a uti? recently my bf says the tip of his penis hurts, it burns/hurts to pee, for about a week or so now his lower back has been hurting, and he says his pee smells bad. idk how it would be a std bc we never do anything without a condom, (plus i’d know bc i don’t have any diseases). he also drinks water and doesn’t really drink pop much often. if it is a uti, is there anything he could do to help or fix it at home?

If it’s a uti which it kind of sounds like it could be he needs to go see a doctor. Utis for men are way more complicated than it is for women and he needs to get treated for it as soon as possible so he doesn’t get a kidney infection

Could be from anything really if he’s sitting in sweaty clothes for too long? If he’s holding his bladder for too long stuff like that literally anything that could cause bacteria to get up there

Does he drink a lot of ice tea? Ice tea is bad and can cause kidney stones. Maybe he has a stone that is hurting him? Sometimes stones are small enough to be passed which is to be real painful, but sometimes they are too big and needs doctor to break them up

@Pizza_girl yes!!! he does drink a LOT of sweet tea, everytime he gets the chance he pretty much does like everytime we get fast food or go out to eat. the same night i posted this he was hurting pretty badly and i figured it was a uti bc i had one last year which eventually led to kidney stones and was rly painful but i peed it out so i saw a tiktok that said to drink water w baking soda do subside the pain and i made him drink it and it helped w the pain. the next day he was about to shower and was just checking out down there and saw a whiteish thing in the hole of his penis so he squeezed it out for some reason and it fell on the floor and was hard like a rock so i think he most likely had kidney stones lol bc now all the pain and everything is gone

Hiya💗 If he is still having issues with the burning when he pees he may have an issue with his urine ph levels. This can be from too much sugar from the iced tea you mentioned. The rock like thing sounds like a kidney stone and is heavily advised he sees a GP asap. Leaving it any further can cause serious issues xx

@peetie_ just now seeing your reply. Yup, that sounds like a kidney stone for sure. He might have more or that might be the only one. If he isn't having more pain, that might be the only one loose. He should still get checked out by a doctor in case there are more and ones too big to be passed. He should really lay off on the tea though too. Or not drink a lot of it and cut back a good bit so he doesn't keep ending up with more kidney stones. Glad he is feeling better!
