My ex gave me hpv. Should I contact him about it and/or be mad?

No what would that achieve? Are you 100% sure it was him? HPV is extremely common, more people have a form of it than don’t.

Why would it be him? HPV can remain dormant in the body for years, sometimes even decades, without causing symptoms.

@blUerose9 @yI_eune Hpv/pap normal before him and hpv positive after him.

@Bonyu that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. Like I said it can remain dormant for years or even decades. And it can’t be tested for when it is. Only after it becomes active. It’s entirely possible you’ve carried it for years without knowing. Of all people in the world roughly 80% of women and 90% of men carry the virus.

I know it’s frustrating and may be hard to accept but contacting him isn’t going to do anything.

He most likely did not even know he had it (if it was from him)

@Bonyu unfortunately that’s not evidence that you contracted it from him, it can lay dormant in the body for years. I’m not sure if it’s even tested for in men like it is for women (smear/pap tests) so the chances are he was not aware that he had it (if you even got it from him).
