Ok please don’t judge, I need help. About a month ago I missed a pill early in my pack and I had unprotected sex so I took a plan B. I have been consistent since then and I skipped my “week off” and I’m 5 days into the new pack and I had sex again but I missed a pill 2 days ago. Since I had been taking the pills consistently for at least a month before this do I need to take another plan b? I really don’t want to…

For this month, I didn’t realize until a full day later and I only took that day and continued as normal rather than taking 2 :/

i don’t have any advice regarding taking the plan b because i’m new to bc, but i do have advice for staying consistent with birth control: since this seems to be like a common thing for you, i would really recommend setting multiple alarms on your phone (like through the alarm app, as well as using this app) to take your pills and making a habit of putting them in your purse/bag wherever you go if you’re out! you could also change the time you take them to later at night or earlier in the morning because that helps a lot of people from what i’ve seen!! i hope you’re able to continue to stay consistent! i know life gets hectic sometimes but seriously just making sure you have them on you regardless of if you know whether or not you’ll be home in time to take them is a great decision. 🩷 wishing you the best!

Most combined pills allow for a missed pill without reduced protection, as long as you’ve taken at least a week of active pills correctly and do not take a break week within 7 days. There are a few exceptions to this, due to the type of hormones in the pill being different or the dosage, they are Qlaira, Zoely, and Yaz (and their generics). These pills may not always allow for a missed dose, if you are on one of them you should follow your pamphlets instructions regarding a missed pill.
