I been on the mini pill for almost a year and noticed that more then not I have brown discharge. Now it turned into a full on bleed and has been bleeding for about 2 weeks now. Why is this happening???

It’s just breakthrough bleeding

I am very familiar you with breakthrough bleeding but do you know why its going on for so long?

on the mini pill bleeding is especially weird i think, my guess is because there’s no proper break or dedicated time to flush stuff out, so it’s a little bit that lasts a long time. i’ve noticed since switching to a mini pill, even though mine is slynd and it has a placebo week, my bleeding never lines up with the inactive pills, and it’s light and lasts longer than it did on the combined pill. sometimes it’s more heavy and ends quicker, but when it’s really light I find it takes much longer to end.

@GhostFaceLov there is no particular reason why sometimes it last longer than others. That’s why there is no direct solution on how to resolve it. Side effects will happen unexpectedly. Sometimes it can last for a few hours and other times people can experience bleeding for weeks on end. Breakthrough bleeding is more common on the mini pill. General rule of thumb is that if you have a continuous flow for 6-8 weeks it’s a good idea to talk to your doctor about swapping pills or methods.
