Hi I’m on pill. I was 2 days after ending antibiotic and my partner and I had sex. Pull out metod. 5 or 6 days later I take test and it was negative. Do I have to do it again? Just to make sure or I’m okey?

Do you have any reason to believe you were unprotected during sex? Most antibiotics do not affect the pill directly. Pull out method does nothing, and a pregnancy test isn’t reliable until 21 days after unprotected sex. If you use your pills correctly and your antibiotics didn’t make you terribly sick you’ve probably got nothing to worry about. Use condoms if you’re not sure about your protection status. Preventing is much more effective.

@Yi_eune I checked and it says this antibiotic has an interaction with the pill. Sex was two days before my period was supposed to start, and I didn't bleed. So, I took a pregnancy test because I was scared to start a new pack of pills.

@Nikolcia this isn’t known as an antibiotic that interferes with the pill, unless it makes you very sick. {zsHTrMN1W}

“The medicines you are asking about contain CEFIXIM and ETHINYLESTRADIL. Using both medicines at the same time may weaken the contraceptive effect of ethinylestradiol. If the medicines were prescribed by different doctors, a consultation is recommended to determine whether these medicines can be used at the same time and, if so, whether it is necessary to change the dosage recommendations. If the medicines were prescribed by the same doctor, follow the dosage schedule. Inform the doctor of any worrying symptoms. Use additional methods of contraception while taking the antibiotic and for at least 7 days after the end of treatment” that what I found

Only rifampicin or rifabutin directly affect the effectiveness of your pill. Other antibiotics only affect your protection if you’re sick or have severe loose stools. Info is from the NHS, as linked above.
