I’m on Alesse and will be going on vacation in a couple of months. Of course, my period lines up perfectly with the dates of my vacation. I’ve heard if one month I skip my break week and then start a new pill pack, that’ll shift my period week going forward. Is this okay to do? Should I do it beforehand or just doing it the month of my vacation? I should note I’m currently single and not sexually active so the BC is strictly for period control currently. Thanks in advance!

Only do it during your vacation. You should only be taking a max of two packs in a row! I am actually trying this for the first time right now. My friend has done it as well

Oh great thank you! Do the pms symptoms intensify at all?

It does not guarantee it will shift your bleeds, some people need to get used to skipping breaks and may experience breakthrough bleeding and other side effects but the only way to find out is to try it. Always bed to bring some emergency supplies on your trip, just in case.

@jvaladz that’s not true, you can skip as many breaks as you like, there is no limit to it.

Perfectly fine to do. I’d recommend doing it beforehand, it’s not guaranteed to prevent bleeding, and some people find they experience heightened side effects when skipping breaks

Honestly, you could do it at any time because as soon as you do that you’ll shift your break week going forward so you could do it now or closer to before your vacation
