What do people think about wearing black to a wedding? Just in general, does it strike as the wrong vibe, or could a black dress be kinda classy?

If there is no dress code for the guests, as long as you don’t wear the same color as the bride you should wear whatever you feel comfortable in!

It depends on the dress code and the vibe. I think black is the perfect color for an evening wedding with a cocktail or formal dress code. I don't think I'd wear it to, say, a beach wedding. And obviously follow whatever guidance is on the invitation.

Most of my wardrobe is black so I’ve work black to most weddings. No one has ever said anything. I agree with @aurielle though. Follow the dress code in the invitation.

Should be completely fine! I’ve worn black to a wedding before and I dressed it up a bit by using a pastel bag.

Thanks guys! I think I always had black in my head as something kinda somber, and I always thought if I go to a wedding it had to be patterned or colored as more like “Whoo celebration!” vibe. But I think you’re right and for an evening or cocktail/formal event, I could see black working really well
