i recently decided to stop straightening my curly hair, i’ve started using hair products and diffusing for the first time. i’m sure my hair has heat damage after straightening it since i was around 14 (now 22) but i’d like advice on how to not make it frizzy when i’m diffusing and keeping my curls moisturised. my mum used to be a hairdresser and she’s been a massive help but i’d like advice on someone who possibly has the same hair type as me (3b/3c?) and how they go about maintaining it, i don’t know how often i should wash it, should i add products the day after washing to help my curls stay intact?

My hair is more wavy than curly so I won’t be a big help but here’s a few things I do to reduce the frizz: - Microfiber towel, I "scrunch" most of the water out with it - Add hair products when the hair is 50-70% dry for best results. I like the curl keeper original liquid, purple bottle. - I sleep with a satin (silk?) bonnet - I wash it every 3 days, you could probably do it less often than me with your hair - Hair masks are great. I like the shea moisturize hydrate and repair one

I have curly hair pretty close to yours! I had the same journey (straightening my hair since middle school, starting my natural hair journey in my early 20s). Here’s some tips that have helped me :) - I usually wash my hair once or twice a week, depending on the weather. - I use a deep conditioner every wash day, I double shampoo every wash day, and I use a clarifying product every other wash day or once a month. - Always apply a leave in conditioner when your hair is still dripping wet so that your curls retain their moisture, the longer you wait the more frizzy your hair will get because you’re not locking in moisture. - Add a gel after your hair has dried a bit, scrunch out the rest of the water from your hair, then diffuse or air dry. - Add a high quality hair oil after your hair has dried to keep frizz down. - Sleep with your hair in a silk or satin bonnet, as well as a silk or satin pillowcase in case the bonnet comes off. Hope this helps and good luck on your curly hair journey! :)
