Does anyone get auras but no headache/migraine after? I had one for a good 45 minutes

sometimes, i’m about 25/75% no migraine or yes migraine after. either way they count as migraine with aura. are you on a combined pill?

I had those before twice, each time during 2 separate break weeks while on the combination pill. i stopped taking it after the 2nd time and havent had one since. it was scary!

@silvertink88 you should definitely talk to your doctor about switching to a progesterone only pill, that’s what i did. they’re not supposed to prescribe combined pills to people who get migraines with aura since it’s associated with a risk of stroke. i got on slynd, which works very similarly to a combined pill (24 hr window, 4 days placebo pills)

@silvertink88 it doesn’t really matter how often you get them, it matters that you’ve ever had them at all. most people never experience aura so it’s a specific danger doctors look out for when it comes to birth control
