Hi guys I have a question I was wondering if anyone knew the answer to. So, I recently got offered the job as an apprentice at a nursery and yesterday they rang me and said they ran into an issue. It says that apparently i’ve done an early years apprenticeship before for 13 months and therefore they have no more funding for me through the government because it was used last time. However, i have never done an apprenticeship, I just did a college course which I didn’t get paid for or anything and they took all the funding so it’s really annoying. However, I said I would pay for my own funding and they said it would be £1500. However, in the email it says “This is a diploma only and not an apprenticeship standard, however it is still the same qualification” I was just confused on what this means. Will I still be getting paid as an apprentice because unfortunately if not I can’t leave my current job and take this job if I won’t be getting paid as an apprentice.

I would contact the government and get answers about this supposed apprenticeship funding you’ve used in the past and know nothing about. They are signs of fraud.
