Is it a common thing to gain weight after quitting the pill? or other things i should know? i am 23, all my ( after my 15th) life i have been kind off the same weight, i want to get off the pill but i am so scared of gaining weight or getting acne? Iknow it’s stupid but this is one of the reasons i won’t get off :( I want to get off because i feel like i want to get to know my true self. I also heard girls not loving their boyfriends anymore after quitting. Also a huge fear.

Please use a trigger warning when posting about weight in the future.
According to research any weight gain/loss is not a direct result of birth control, change in appetite can happen but that’s about it. Birth control can affect water weight, but that’s only temporary.
Acne usually gets worse before it gets better. There is no telling what will happen when you get off as an adult now. It’s something you may have to just see.
Sadly there is no way to know how birth control will affect you and what side effects you may experience after getting off, as it affect everyone differently. It may take up to 12 months for your body to fully get used being off it.
Whether you love your partner or not has got nothing to do with taking birth control or not, that’s just a silly thing going around the internet nowadays. Fearmongering about birth control is a real thing and you should only get your information for validated sources. Avoid social media on the topic x

Personally I stopped the pill after 7 years on it, I was on it to help with acne so that obviously came back a bit, but other than that nothing else changed (weight, mood, feelings, appetite wise etc), I felt exactly the same afterwards.
