Friendship advice Hi! I was wondering if anyone has any advice on navigating friendships after university. I’m finding it hard to navigate friendships and circles since my friends have scattered since uni. I miss having a solid group to meet up with often and it makes me sad everyone being so far apart. Some friends have been bad at keeping in touch which sucks when we were so close. And others I feel like I put in a lot of the effort to see so it makes me feel like they don’t really want to keep the friendship up. And at times I overthink when someone doesn’t respond for ages etc. Just wanting some tips on how to let things go and accept these new changes, and how to stop overthinking friendships / to not have expectations ? Thanks x

Sadly when we go through big life transitions the nature of friendships does change. Allow yourself to grieve the ending of university, I know I definitely went through a period of that after graduating. It's a really special time living near your friends and all studying and doing life together and its sad when that ends. However just because friendships look different now doesn't mean they're over. I have friends I've moved away from that I don't talk to super frequently but when we do visit each other's cities or plan to meet up we still feel close and have a great time. It might also be worth looking into making some new friends locally. It's good to have a variety of friendships including long distance ones and some in your area that you can see in person.
