hello friends! I’ve started the mini pill a month or so ago, and have in the last few days traveled home for the holidays. I adjusted my time to one hour earlier than I usually take my pill (still in three hour range) due to the time-zone changes! However, for the past day I’ve been experiencing heavy brown discharge or bleeding? Is this normal when adjusting the time on mini-pill? I’ve been on combination birth control for years and this is my first experience with the mini-pill, so a bit confused. Is it okay that I adjusted the time (one hour earlier) or is this really affecting my body and the pill.

I’m also hoping, I am still protected? I assumed I was because it is within the three hour range, but now this possible breakthrough bleeding is a bit frightening that I’m no longer protected.

You are protected, since it’s in your usage window. Some people are more sensitive than others when it comes to changing their time, so you might be experiencing breakthrough bleeding because of it. But it might also be a complete coincidence and not because of your time change. Bleeding is not an indicator whether you’re protected or not.
