Been on birth control for like 8 years. Getting tired of having to take a pill everyday at the same time. Thinking of getting an IUD…. Anyone have one? Would recommend or no?

I have a Mirena IUD, very happy with it. The insertion was quite painful but depending on where you live, there might be possibilities for pain management.

I was on the nuvaring and loved it sooo much! I recommend that! Decided last year it would be beneficial for me to get on a long term bc like the IUD. I did my research and found a dr that had pain management!! Please find one that does if you decide to get one. And I’m happy with it. It’s got more side effects than my ring did. But it works best for me at this time in my life. I spot once a month and get cramps and a lil moody ;( but it’s not super intense at all. I don’t like it but it’s tolerable. So far so good. I feel I got the cramps in the beginning cause there’s something foreign in my uterus yk. But over all thumbs up 👍🏽 I like it.

I have Kyleena:) they are smaller so is nicer for younger woman who haven’t had children. I really like it and my dr didn’t have pain management plus I had vaginismus but it didn’t hurt one bit for me. I took anxiolyitc and muscle relaxant and put a bit of lidocaine cream in the entrance and it worked great!
