Hey so this is my first time on the combined pill which I started today as I was meant to start my period today but I came on early last night… should I have taken a pill then or do you think it is fine to start them today?

As long as you start within first 5 days of your period, you should be protected straight away. Otherwise, you'd need to wait 7 days before you're protected.
