Can birth control cause debilitating fatigue and bruising all over? Backstory: I recently started Twirla patch after being on Depo. I don't know if it's coincidence or what, but about 5-6 days after I started it, I was hit with debilitating fatigue. Like to the point where I nearly fell asleep at work, which has never happened, and I have to come home every day and sleep. All I do is sleep. This is not typical for me. I have also noticed that I have bruises all over my body and have a lot of pain all over. Could the birth control cause any of this? It’s odd that none of this happened until I started it. I just recently had blood work done a couple of months ago so I don't think my insurance will pay for it again to see if I have any deficiencies. I believe it can affect your b vitamin levels which would give symptoms like fatigue and low iron would give easy bruising but this sounds extreme. I would really recommend getting your bloods checked again it could be a vitamin or iron deficiency. But could be something more serious, please seek medical attention ASAP especially as this has happened very quickly and your symptoms are concerning.

I noticed the same when it comes to the bruises. I have always bruised easily but ever since I started birth control it has gotten worse. Sometimes I have pretty big bruises that I don’t remember getting through bumping into something. I have been to the doctor for it and they did blood work and told me to take B12 supplements. It’s gotten better but not completely resolved. However: your pain sounds really concerning and I agree with the above that you should seek out medical attention. I wouldn’t wait too long! You shouldn’t have to go around with pain and exhaustion.
