Hi, I was on the pill (Yasmin) for 14 years and recently came off it. My last withdrawal bleed was on the 25th of July, and since then I haven’t had a period. According to the Flo app, I’m now 21 days late. I understand it can take up to 3 months for cycles to return after stopping the pill. I’ve also taken a pregnancy test, which was negative. Today, after having sex with my partner, I noticed a small amount of pale pink blood on the sheets and again when I wiped afterwards. Should I be concerned? Could this be the start of my period? I’ve never experienced this before.

There is no point in tracking your cycle because it can take up to 12 months for your body to get used to being off birth control. Irregular bleeding is one of the things you can experience during that time.

Ahh okay! I’m more concerned about the slight pale pink bleeding it was hardly anything but just never had this before and was worried there’s an issue? (I have health anxiety) so that doesn’t help!

Could just be spotting or a sign you could be starting your period, or if you aren’t using another form of contraceptives like condoms it could potentially be implantation bleeding, honestly it’s really hard to tell when you’re first getting off the pill

i disagree with the statement that there’s “no point” in tracking right now, it’s still good practice to know when you’ve last bled and be able to recognize patterns whenever they do start to regulate. i agree with the last comment, it could be normal but because you’re off birth control it’s not impossible that it was implantation bleeding. i’d say that if your period doesn’t start, take another test in a few weeks

Woke up this morning and a small amount of the same light pink blood when I wipe, it looks like the very early start of a period? It’s so hard to tell! My last period from the pill was when my week break happened on 25th July.

@lola123 it’s just irregular bleeding which is normal to experience since you’ve got off the pill
