Hi, i originally went on birth control for heavy painful periods and bad hormonal acne and the pregnancy protection is just a bonus. My pill has made my period pains non existent and my skin is super clear now. A side affect of my pill is it’s significantly reduced my libido, so I was thinking of coming off it however during covid when I wasn’t able to get my pill for 3 months my skin severely broke out and I still have lasting scars. Since my acne is hormonal no skin care will help it if I were to stop taking it again. I fear that if I stop taking my pill my acne will go crazy however I want my libido back. It feels like a loose loose situation, I either have to sacrifice my sex drive or my clear skin. Anybody else been in the same situation? ⚠️❌💊💊❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌❌💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊⚠️⏱ Brand: Rigevidon

Have you been to a dermatologist?

It might be worth discussing your concerns with your healthcare provider. They could help you explore alternative birth control options that might not affect your libido as much while still managing your acne and period pain. There are various types of pills and other methods that might suit you better

@happykitty56 this was never something the doctor thought I would benefit from, even with years of going to the doctors about my acne, they said the pill would be the best option for me, but I find UK’s NHS doctors to quite dismissive of “non-important medical concerns”

I’d recommend going to a dermatologist. There’s more options than just the pill.
