Hey guys I’ve had the Kyleena IUD for a year and a half now, and my periods stopped probably 3-4 months after insertion. I seriously have not bled since then. However, yesterday I started to spot, and by the end of the day I was having a light period. I got away with a small panty liner yesterday and last night but have now woken up this morning and decided it was enough for a tampon. I knowww there are plenty of posts about breakthrough bleeding on birth control, but since I’ve had the IUD for a year and a half and have consistently experienced having NO bleeding/period, I wanted to get some input on what this could mean, if anything. I took a pregnancy test a couple weeks ago, and another one yesterday so I’m really not worried about that. As a side note though, my boobs have been pretty sore for the past 2-3 weeks and idk what that’s all about either. Haven’t been on here in a while, so any perspectives, suggestions, input, or reassuring words would be super appreciated <3.

Oh, I also had an exam about two weeks ago because turns out I had BV (bacterial vaginosis) and the woman said my iud looked all good and that usually after a year they are pretty snug in there. But maybe the BV or the meds I took for that are affecting my body still?

It’s just break through bleeding. It’s normal

It doesn't mean anything, breakthrough bleeding can occur at any time
