I missed the last pill in my pack last month, only took a 3 day break and then took the missed pill with this months pack (didn’t realise all this until this month). My period was now 2 days late and very very light. I always take my pill on time. I’m sure I will be fine but could there be a risk of pregnancy?

You can count the missed pill as another break day. You should be fine, sounds like you use the pill correctly

Yeah the missed pill would have just been the 4th break day in this case. Which is not a problem. If you use your pills on time you have nothing to worry about. You’re not a machine and won’t bleed like clockwork every time. Not bleeding or light bleeding is very normal

It’s also even more common to stop bleeding over time if you take short breaks ^

Sorry for the third reply; but because you’re on birth control you don’t have an actual cycle. This means you cannot be late for your bleeds. The bleeds are synthetic and is a possible side effect of the pill and the break weeks and that’s why they are not officially classified as a period.

@bluerose9 so even though the break would technically have been a day earlier and I took 1 less pill in that pack it’s okay? What a relief 😅

@d1996 yup this is why medical professional advice has changed in recent years to users taking 4 day breaks, reduces human error in situations like this
