Mini Pill (PoP) - Cerelle Hi everyone, has anyone been on or currently is on this pill and can just give me a general understanding of it, please? i was previously on rigevidon then switched to yacella for the past probably 2ish years, but i have recently been getting thrush which i learnt is actually a symptom of the yacella pill, so i have switched and will start the mini pill tonight (not a symptom thankfully!!). just wanted to know everyone’s experiences really and how they’ve found it or anything notable worth mentioning. i was also a little confused about periods, previously i just skipped the break so didn’t get periods unless i decided to, and to my understanding with these pills it’s the same and you don’t have a break but i saw online you might still bleed? thanks so much in advance everyone 🩷

If you put the pill brand name into the search bar here you’ll find lots of old posts. Bear in mind people generally only post when they have a question or something negative to say. You do not get real natural periods on either the combined pill or desogestrel mini pill. Any bleeding you’ve experienced on the pill is just a side effect of the pill and not an actual period. Ideally you should not bleed on the mini pill but unfortunately irregular bleeding is a particularly common side effect. You have to a take a pill everyday on the mini pill, if you miss a pill you are unprotected. However it only takes 48 hours to become protected again so if you miss a pill you’re fully protected by the 3rd pill taken correctly.
