@pegasus14 just wondering if you’ve noticed any effects from it, everyone online is so negative about the iud, I’m wanting to get it as it’s non hormonal, but I’ve heard really bad things, especially about periods etc x

@hellok1tty my periods have been okay, I tend to have 2 lighter days, 2/3 heavy days and then 1 medium day but that might be impacted by coming off the pill. I wouldn’t say my cramps are more painful but they are different, is the only way to describe them!! I maybe have more discharge than previously which is something I’ve only just joined the dots on!! But I feel sooo much happier that I made the choice to switch to a non-hormonal method. The hormones were not working out for me! I suppose something to bear in mind is people will often only post the negatives and not the good experiences… I was also worried and nearly back out of getting mine based on the negatives x

@hellok1tty also if u do experience cramps… im in the UK and bought a machine from myoovi which helps to reduce them and is safe to use with the copper iud. It’s not cheap but has been worth it on the months where the cramps were a little worse. You can get cheaper versions off amazon tho! X

I’ve had the copper coil for 5 years now and it’s been my favourite, don’t have to think about it, periods were heavier for the first few(maybe 6) cycles for me but after that they were fairly normal. Never had a problem with it so I’d recommend it fully x
