What contraception are you considering using instead of the pill? Blood clots are not really a concern unless you have a close family history of blood clots or you have high blood pressure. If there’s no other reason why you’re considering stopping the pill then I personally would just keep taking it. People stay on the pill for 10-15+ years no problem

condom only. my grandmother has high blood pressure but other than that, no family history of cardiovascular problems. i thought 5 years is a looong time but apparently it's not? thank you for answering:)

Family history is only really an issue if it was at a young age (under 40/45). Strokes run in my family but I’ve been on the combined pill for 10+ years, they were aged over 50 when they had them. The risk doesn’t increase with duration of pill use & as long as you get blood pressure checks annually & lead a healthy/balanced lifestyle then you’re good.
