The only antibiotics that profoundly affects combined oral contraceptive potency are drugs that contain hepatic enzyme inducers: rifampin and rifapentine (Priftin), rifampin with INH, (Rifadin, Rimactane), Rifamate, Rifater (with INH and pyrazinamide) and griseofulvin (rarely used). Rifampin is also widely used with other antibiotics to treat skin infections with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
