Hi everyone, I am currently on holiday and I’m pretty sure I have thrush. I have all the symptoms however I can’t go to the doctor to confirm this as I’m on holiday. I rang up to try book a phone call appointment but they couldn’t book one until 2 weeks and I’m in quite a lot of discomfort. I bought the pessary and cream treatment but I’m just wondering if anything bad will happen if I use it and then it ends up not being thrush? I just don’t want to wait 2 weeks especially because I’m on holiday and in a lot of discomfort?

Can you not go to a local emergency room? Maybe they have doctors available that can examine you.

I don't think anything bad would happen, if you've had thrush before and are pretty certain that's it, I would prioritize easing your discomfort. I don't get tested for a yeast infection every time.

You should be okay, I thought I had yeast infections so many times last year so I would do the treatments, and would go get tested all the time(always was negative for everything) turns out I’m allergic to my bfs sperm lolol apparently I developed the allergy after having our son.

As far as I’m aware, nothing bad happens if you use the creams and you don’t have thrush! I’m pretty sure I’ve done the same and then realised shortly afterwards I was wrong. I was totally fine, apart from feeling silly for spending money on buying it :) obviously using it really frequently may have negative effects, but just this once should be fine!

You can ask the pharmacist to advise you, they are there for this and have a specialised degree.
