How close is too close to be engaged around the same time as a sibling?? My boyfriend and I have been discussing an engagement (I don't want to know when) sometime this year. I just got word his sister is getting engaged this May, which is around the time I thought I would be getting engaged. How close is too close for us to be engaged? I do not want to take away from their special moment whatsoever. I warned my boyfriend not to propose too close together, but I am really not sure when would be a good time now given the circumstances.

Honestly I don’t think it’s that big of a deal? Unless his sister is a little bit of a drama queen and would be upset? I think like 2 months would be fine.

I don’t think you should have to plan your engagement around someone else’s. A couple of weeks is more than fine. Or just do it now.

Idk I feel like his sister will be hurt by it as yk how girls are with their big day and I feel like she’d feel you’re taking the spot light off her id wait until like august or just do it now :)

But I’d also say if you really wanna get engaged and don’t care what others may think then just do it :) At the end of the day it’s your engagement

I’m in a similar situation, I would just say leave a few weeks or a month in between and it should be fine! I think it’s inevitable if you guys are similar ages and started dating around the same time, it’s not worth postponing life over.

June is better than may!! ;) warmer, sunnier, everyone loves June haha But for real it’s not too big of a deal, your engagement has nothing to do with theirs! Everyone will celebrate equally I imagine
