I just had the kyleena fitted today. I had been using birth control mini pill up until 2 days ago. I’m wondering if I’m protected immediately or if I have to wait 7 days?

The mini pill no longer covers you as soon as you stop. So you need to wait before your kyleena is active.

I’m pretty sure after 48hrs it’s effective or atleast when I had mine I was told not to have sex for 48hrs to lessen the risk of infection while you heal from being punctured in your cervix

Your mini pill stops protecting you as soon as you’re off it. When I got my IUD, the doctor recommended not having sex for 7 days to allow my body to heal after insertion and to prevent infection.
