Ive been having breakthrough bleeding for a couple days and stomach cramps. Today I woke up and it was full on blood dark red blood. Is it because i take the pill on an empty stomach and then eat to cause the dark blood? Im nervous. Im on Junel 1/20 birth control

And ive been taking the pill at 10 the past 4 days instead of 9. If that has to do with anything

Irregular bleeding and cramps are normal side effects of the pill that can happen at ANY time, often for absolutely no apparent reason. So it’s completely normal and nothing you need to worry about. Taking your pill an hour later than usual makes no difference at all.

Can the irregular bleeding happen after sex also, if your on the pill?
