Hi! I was wondering if anyone else feels completely drained by their periods? I’m on birth control and even during my break weeks, my “period” really takes a lot out of me. My cramps are awful and I’m all over the place emotionally. It makes me feel like I’m going crazy sometimes. I just wanted to know if anyone else experienced similar things. For example: I woke up today, ready to get things done (I laid in bed all day yesterday due to pain). I went to start my day and just got drained from cramps and other pain. I feel disappointed when this happens because I have so much to do but I know I need to take care of my self too. Does anyone else relate???

This current brand I’m on Sprintec I’m still in the adjustment period. I am on pack 3 and I know there is a 3-6 month adjustment period. I don’t skip my break week because I don’t want to get break through bleeding. But my bleeding on this brand is just awful. My flow is so heavy like the pad feels heavy. I’m so low on energy. My cramps are on another level. I unfortunately can’t take any pain medicine other than Tylenol because I got neck surgery so medicine like naproxen or ibuprofen can affect the bone from healing well. My doctor said I can’t take ibuprofen for a year. I hope that my bleeding gets better. I actually start my break week tomorrow so I’m definitely not looking forward to that.

Could you just skip your periods?

@aurielle I have tried but the longest I can go without any breakthrough bleeding is 2-3 months. When I randomly choose to take a break week, the period isn’t so bad but when I have to take one due to breakthrough bleeding, it’s really hard on my body.
