I dont know how to describe it but ill try my best. In short i dont know what i eat. I have always been a ,,picky eater”, according to my mom she had trouble feeding me even when i was a baby. Now it has gotten alot worse. The list of foods i like is getting smaller and it happens very rarely when i try new stuff (and actually like it). Most of the time i starve so my weight goes up and when i overeat i lose weight. Kind of weird. Starving also gives me headaches and makes me weak so i have a really hard time making food later in the day. Also i cant eat foods that i dont like or force myself to eat because i throw it up immediately (i cant control it, it just happens). I plan to go to a professional soon so i could go on a diet and have my meals planned out. Has anyone ever heard about something like this or am i just weird?

I think it’s normal for most babies and young kids to be picky with food. But it’s also the parents responsibility to address it very early on. Seems like yours has gotten very drastic to the point of starving yourself. The only thing I can tell you is to remind you that you need food to survive and sometimes you don’t like everything. Not everything tastes amazing and you have to eat for your health. But maybe your issue is deeper. I would talk to someone ASAP.

I don’t want to diagnose you since I’m not a professional but it sounds like you could have some kind of disordered eating. So not just a phase. I think seeing a professional is definitely a good idea

I was also a picky eater, though not to this extreme. One thing that really helped me was to learn how to prepare foods that I didn’t like myself, since I saw and could control all the ingredients going into the dish. Also having friends who LOVED cooking and eating helped me a lot, since I wanted to be like them. I would definitely recommend talking to a professional, especially a therapist that specializes in eating disorders

I saw a story like this on tv once. The way they helped introduce new foods was to add one ingredient to something they already liked eating. For example, say you like just a plain sandwich, and dont like vegetables on it, try just adding a piece of lettuce, or a slice of tomato. Or you like just plain pizza, add a little bit of bell pepper. Definitely think you should seek professional help though, its a lot easier when you have someone to guide you!💖💖
