Hey! So I have been off of my birth control pill for about a week or so now. Before I stopped my pill, I had protected sex. After stopping my pill, I got my period about a day or so after. I only bled for 5 days. Is this bleeding because of me getting off of my birth control and that’s normal, or could I be pregnant and the bleeding was just because I got off of my birth control? Does this make sense? Someone let me know

You used protection so you can’t be pregnant. When you stop using the pill it can take up to 12 months for your body to fully regulate itself so irregular bleeding is normal.

When you first get off the pill you’ll often have withdrawal bleeding as if you were taking your break week, the second bleed will be your natural period

But also don’t be concerned if it’s not regular off the bat because after you have your withdrawal bleeding some people don’t get their period for a couple months as long as you’re sure you’re not pregnant there’s nothing to worry about if that happens
