is there a way to effectively test your fertility levels whilst on bc? i’ve been on rigvedon for 2.5yrs, and switched to cerelle since oct 2020, i’ve been on bc since april 2018. i have had a few scares but all negative tests and am on point 99% of the time taking bc and haven’t been pregnant before. i don’t use protection with my boyf but use the pill as protection. we’ve had no positives yet (we’re not trying as we’re too young we think) but the longer i stay on bc the most anxious and scared i become that i’m infertile? as my bc stops ovulation fertility tests mightn’t be reliable but i would like to know if there’s a possible way :/x

Hey, there’s no evidence to support that birth control can disrupt future fertility, this is a common myth. Unfortunately, there’s no way to test fertility when on the pill as it essentially prevents you from being fertile (ovulation) whilst you are on it, so the only way to find out your own fertility level would be to stop taking your birth control and start taking ovulation tests, but you would have to use a different method of protection in the meantime. I wouldn’t worry about infertility too much if you have no real reason to, it can be caused by other conditions, so if you have anything else going on it would be good to get checked by your doctor. But if your general health is fine, and you have no reason to believe you are infertile, I would try not to worry about it too much xx

If you’re using the pill correctly, you’re not currently fertile as that is being suppressed, and there is no way to test for it. I agree with above, there is no reason to worry about this until it’s a definite issue you’re faced with.
