Vomiting after taking pill: So last week I threw up less than an hour after taking my pill (combination) and I was down to the one pack only, so I call my gynecologist just to double check it’s ok to take the next one in my pack and they told me not to and just take the next days pill as per normal time the next day. I found this very odd because I know of you vomit after taking a pill in a certain time frame it’s considered missed. I did my own research and it confirmed what I thought was true, so I didn’t feel comfortable going by what my doctors office said and took another pill. Does anyone else find them telling me not to take another one very odd? I’m glad I did take another for my own assurance

Other info: all my active pills have the same amount of hormones

Also it was first week of a new pack

If you vomit within 3 hours of taking the pill it classifies as a missed pill.

Yeah that’s what I always thought so idk why they were telling me I didn’t need to take another.

Sadly they aren’t always educated on birth control

No you are right that’s totally weird of them, they definitely need a little refresher on how to go about that because spreading misinformation can be harmful

Seriously if someone didn’t know better they would have trusted them, I think it’s common sense when you vomit right after taking any medication it should be taken again.
