Hey everyone, I wanted to ask if anyone’s been in the same boat. I am having extreme heart pain from my break up. And it’s causing other issues. I even went to the doctors twice now and there’s literally nothing wrong. Has anyone felt this? I don’t plan on messaging my ex (I want to but that’s not good for me) and thinking of taking maybe 3-6 months to heal and focus on myself but it’s way harder than I thought it would be.

Our intense emotions can definitely cause physical reactions in the body. It's definitely hard but maybe try some healing methods that focus on the body as well as the mind. For example breathing exercises, yoga, exercise, maybe an arts therapy that requires you to work with your hands...make sure you are finding appropriate outlets for your emotions and not bottling them up. Seek therapy as well.

Yup, I’m doing everything I feel like I should be. I’m in therapy, I have been seeing friends and surrounding myself with family. I’ve been distracting myself with school and work, I’ve been working out and focusing on my health. Also acknowledging my feelings but this is surprisingly hard, I guess I just need to let time pass. I will do the breathing techniques and yoga though because that has helped.

@Bananass i haven’t had the heart pains but i am 4 months into the break up and still have my struggles, so i feel for you and hope this helps you feel not alone. i’m routing for you, you sound like you are working hard to show up for yourself and do the right things to take care of yourself during this hard time and i’m proud of you for that
