Hey everyone. I wanted to ask for suggestions. Valentines is coming up and I want to spend the weekend with my partner and we want to get intimate and preferably without condoms. But the last pill in this pack ends on the 13th. So literally a day before valentines. I’ve been thinking about stopping birth control for a while now and i want to get off it, but if I don’t start a new pack after the 7 day bleed, I’m not protected for those days. I also want to skip the bleeding if possible, and I heard you can do that by continuing your birth control pills during the week you’re meant to be bleeding. Would I be able to take around 7 birth control pills from the new pack and then stop completely? As I really don’t want another month of using this pill. 💊💤💤💤💤💤💤💤💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊❌💊💊💊🔶💊💊💊💊💊💊 Brand: Yasmin (combined contraceptive pill)

I take mine continuously no break pills and never have a period. I would take the extra 10 days since semen can live that long and then stop it if you are wanting to get off of it completely.

You can just take a few extra pills and then stop taking it. You will need to use extra protection from the first day of your “break week”/the first day you’re not taking active pills

Yes you can take a few extra pills and then stop, but why are you avoiding the use of condoms? Because you’ll need to the time after anyway

@Yi_eune Thanks for your reply. I personally don’t like condoms as I find that the friction is uncomfortable even with lube. Kind of stings

@bubble_gums have you thought about how you’re going to handle it once you get off birth control? Don’t want to nag but I am just wondering

@Yi_eune Yeahh totally reasonable thing to ask. I think we’ll be alright. I mean we use condoms as a last resort if we’re not on birth control (but that was many months ago we’d had to do that). It’s definitely not as nice as with the pill but I think it’s worth it as the pill seems to be messing with my mood and appetite a lot. He understands if we need to avoid it completely

You mentioned that using condoms sting: could you be allergic or reacting to latex in regular condoms?

@bubble_gums maybe it’s worth looking into the copper coil, as that does not have any hormones but it does provide protection from pregnancy. You’d need to be comfortable with the insertion if it though.
