Ya'll I'm at my wits end. I finished my pack of bc and as I take it without breaks I am prescribed 4 packs at a time, so by all accounts I should have another pack but I simply do not have it. I don't know if I lost it or something but I always keep them in my bedside drawer and it's just not there; even when I was traveling I used all the packs I brought. I get them through Good Rx and they will not prescribe an extra pack and my pharmacy won't refill it early (next refill is May 8.) Is there literally anything I can do to avoid going 2.5 weeks without bc?

Could you possibly get an ASAP appt w an OBGYN? I’ve done that before when I urgently needed a refill. Honestly I just called and asked them for new script and they wrote it for me and sent it to the pharmacy

Are you able to buy a singular pack from a pharmacy?

@Yi_eune yeah that's what I'm doing from an online pharmacy, unfortunately it is expensive and the process took a few days but I'll at least only be off bc for a week

Can’t you make an appointment by tela health? Or maybe go to after hours clinic apts?

And as a backup, do you think just basic condoms would work? I’ve been off birth control for years and that’s all I use now. They work perfectly fine, also extenders for your partners penis are the same too. My partner will come in them and I’ve never had any issues with that

@PennyLane102 yes if I had to be off my pill for more than a week I'm perfectly fine using condoms or abstaining from p in v sex, luckily I was able to get pills after exactly 7 days so I'm still protected. I was more concerned with the side effects on my body, and I did have a period for the first time in years which sucked lol along with the cramping and fatigue but besides that I'm ok.

@PennyLane102 FYI a penis extender alone is not a form of contraception

@aurielle oh I know, but I’m very old and at this point. I’m ok with the idea of a kid if it fails. I’ve been using them for about three years now and never had even a scare. I’ve had a fear for a long time it’s going to be hard when I’m ready to get pregnant but that’s for a later time I guess to deal with, for now just going with the flow

@aurielle oh wait, you always skip your period? And how many years have you been on the birth control? Your hormones aren’t out of control? I could never be on it again. It literally ruined my body. I hate it so much. I feel like it also has changed my hormones so much that I get incredibly hot all the time now and can’t control it. I HATE birth control. It’s been so horrible for me Sorry a bit of a rant, also to add to what you said. It completely changed my periods and now I feel like I’m dying when I have them. I used to be perfectly fine, three light days very light cramps. No mood swings. Now I feel like I’m losing my mind and the pain I have is unbearable. I lay in bed for two days not being able to move. I hate it so much

@PennyLane102 yes I've been skipping my periods for a few years now and I MUCH prefer that. I personally don't notice any negative effects of the pill and if I can choose not to go through having a period that's way better for me. Sorry it had such a negative impact on you :( if my periods were that bad I'd definitely choose to skip them via the pill.
