I just finished my 3rd week of the combination pill (I started taking the pill again this month - 3 weeks ago, after not taken it for years). This brand is different than the ones I’d taken before. At the beginning of week 2, I started spotting a little bit and I figured it’d stop after a couple days, but it’s been 6 days and the bleeding has just gotten worse (not bad, but it looks more like a very light bleeding period blood than just spotting). I wanted to skip my period and skip the sugar pills and start my new package again tomorrow. Should I just go ahead and take the break week (sugar pills) and start the new pack in a week and see if that helps with the bleeding? or should I just attempt to skip the period break and start the new package? I’ll also be honest I haven’t been taken this new pill as consistently as I had in the past (maybe like a 1-2 hour window difference each day), could this be why i’m bleeding? I honestly just find it inconvenient and want it to stop but not super sure what to do! thank youuu

In your situation, since you've been experiencing bleeding for an extended period, it might be a good idea to take the break week (sugar pills) as scheduled to allow your body to have a withdrawal bleed. This can help reset your cycle and potentially reduce the bleeding. After the break week, you can start the new pack as usual. Remember to take the pills consistently at the same time each day to help regulate your cycle and minimize breakthrough bleeding. If the bleeding persists or becomes heavier, it's advisable to consult with your healthcare provider for further guidance.
