anyone got any recommendations for birth control that’s really worked for them? i’m currently on desogestrogel and i’ve just been bleeding non stop, before that i had the kyleena coil which was better than this but i did have very irregular spotting and just didn’t get on well with it - i feel like whatever i have just isn’t working for me, i know obviously everyone has different experiences with what works for them but would anyone have any recommendations for what could be good??

Is there any reason why you can't be on a combined hormonal method? The estrogen in combined pills often helps regulate bleeding

I was on the nuvaring for 11 years. It was amazing. I recently switch to kyleena and it’s working well for me.

@aurielle there’s no reason why i cant, it is what i was thinking about switching to actually, i’ve got an appointment with a woman’s health specialist (not until feb 19th tho ughhh) but i’m going to speak to her then about possibly switching to that

It was my first method and worked really well for my body! The first couple years I used it like 3 weeks in and 1 week out. Then I just used it consistently. It’s like a hairband shaped ring that you insert into your vagina and leave inside for 3/4 weeks. I stopped getting side effects and symptoms like bleeding. I would spot like twice a year. You can take it out for up to 3 hours per day (for sex or whatever) and still be protected. You don’t have to worry about vomiting or diarrhea. And it’s just real great overall. You don’t have to remember to take something everyday. Just change it out once a month :)
