Hi ladies, So i missed a few pills this week but i took them after i noticed that i missed them. (By missing them i mean taking them at 8pm and not at 5pm like im supposed to) and i just had unprotected sex, he also finished inside of me. Am i still protected or is there a chance that i might be pregnant??

Have you read your pamphlet on the instructions for missed pills? It should give you the info on if you’d be protected or not

What’s your usage window? Most pills are 12 or 24, while the traditional mini pill has a 3 hour usage window.

^ if you could tell us this we can give more information, it will be in your pill’s pamphlet. Unless you’re on the 3 hour norethindrone mini pill, taking a pill 3 hours later than normal is perfectly fine. If you’re ever even slightly unsure about your protection you’re best to use condoms to be on the safe side!

@Izaatje then it’s not counted as missed until you take a pill more than 12 hours after you were due to take it, ie if it’s due 5pm Monday evening it’s not missed until you haven’t taken it by 5am Tuesday morning. Your protection isn’t affected and you shouldn’t be at risk of pregnancy as you’re using the pill correctly and haven’t missed any pills.
